In the match held on Saturday, Royals won by 7 wickets against Lucknow Supergiants. Rajasthan chased down the target of 197 runs set by Lucknow by losing 3 wickets in 19 overs. Captain Sanju Samson (71 not out in 33 balls, 7 fours, 4 sixes) along with a timely half-century, Dhruv Jurel (52 not out in 34 balls, 5 fours and 2 sixes) excelled.

Rajasthan got off to a better start in the chase. Openers Butler (34) and Jaiswal (24) were not good. The 60-run partnership for the first wicket came to an end as Butler got out off the bowling of Yash Thakur (1/50). After that, Samson shouldered the responsibility of the innings. Rian Parag (14) failed.. Samson opened the crucial innings with Jurel.

The Lucknow bowlers burst with boundaries, damaging their confidence. He entertains with shots keeping in mind the huge field. Lucknow captain Rahul tried changing bowlers to separate them but to no avail. Stoinis and Amit Mishra got a wicket each. Earlier Lucknow scored 196/5 in 20 overs. Rahul (76 off 48 balls) and Deepak Huda (50) excelled with half-centuries. De Kock (8), Stoinis (0), Pooran (11) were very disappointing. Sandeep Sharma (2/31) took two wickets while Boult, Avesh and Ashwin took one wicket each. Samson won the team with an unbeaten half-century and was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’. With this victory, Rajasthan, who have a total of 16 points, have unofficially secured their place in the playoffs.
