New Delhi, April 27 (Andhra Jyoti): Delhi CM Kejriwal on Saturday told the Supreme Court that his arrest before the Lok Sabha elections in the Delhi liquor scam case was illegal. He claimed that the ED illegally arrested him with malicious intent at a time when free and fair elections were to be held. ED filed an affidavit on Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest and he filed a counter to it.
He said that the manner and timing of his arrest when the election schedule was announced and the code of conduct for elections came into force was a reflection of the tyranny of the ED. He said that the ED forced the witnesses to testify against him. Kejriwal said that the ED does not have any evidence to prove that funds were received from the ‘South Group’ during the Goa election campaign. Meanwhile, AIIMS medical team has confirmed that Kejriwal is healthy in jail. It is said that there is no need to change the dosage of the medication given to him.
