KOCHI: A division bench of the High Court has stayed the single bench’s order asking the government to pay Rs 103 crore as salary and festive bonus to KSRTC employees for the last 2 months. The order of the division bench comprising Justice AK Jayasankaran Nambiar and Justice CP Muhammad Niaz was considering the appeal filed by the state government. Arguments on the appeal will continue today.
On August 24, the single bench had directed that the government should pay the remaining Rs 103 crore due to the corporation before September 1 for the salary and festival bonus due in the months of July and August. However, the appellant has pointed out that this will put a huge burden on the government and that there is no employer-employee relationship between the KSRTC employees and the government.
