283 people committed suicide in Delhi last year due to unemployment. 156 people committed suicide in Mumbai. The figures show that 111 people committed suicide in Chennai and 96 people in Bengaluru. These are official figures only.

Another sad fact is that most of those who commit suicide are between the ages of 18 and 30. In 2021, 74 people died in Bengaluru and 79 people in Pune due to job uncertainty.
According to NCRB data, more than 1,00,000 people commit suicide every year in India.
