Internet Desk: The online bakery business is pouring in crores for the three friends. He started his business with just Rs.2 lakh and expanded it step by step and now he has created a business empire of Rs.75 crores. Started in Gurugram, their business has now expanded to many cities and is progressing successfully. Himanshu Chawla Shrey Sehgal and Suman Patra from Delhi are three college friends. Studied at Netaji Subhash University. After completing his studies in 2006 and 2007, he did private jobs for a few years.

But these friends, who have always wanted to start their own business, started the flower business in 2010 with Rs.2 lakhs. Apart from that, cakes are also sold online. Suman, the founder, said that this business, which was started as a venue in Gurugram, has made good profits. Suman said that at first only one person was hired for delivery and other tasks. On special days like Valentine’s Day, co-founders Himanshu and Shrey also used to go for deliveries. He revealed that they have made good profits in a short period of time and that’s when they decided to expand their business further.

Together, these three started a bakery business under a new company in 2016 as a separate brand called Bakingo. In the past, they used to sell fresh cakes with good taste. They expanded their business empire to many cities including Hyderabad. Not only in big cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, but also in small cities like Mohali, Surat, Panipat.

While 30 percent of the company’s sales are done through the Bakingo website, 70 percent of the sales are done through food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato. Bakingo ended the financial year 2021-22 with a turnover of Rs.75 crore.

The company currently employs more than 500 people. Bakingo reached another milestone this year by opening its first offline outlet in Delhi.
