Cervical Cancer Vaccine: The vaccine for cervical cancer is going to be launched for the first time in India. Union Health Minister Jitendra Singh will launch the country’s first cervical vaccine tomorrow i.e. September 1. Those details are for you..

The first cervical vaccine was developed in the country. The quadrivalent human papillomavirus vaccine was jointly developed by the Serum Institute of India and the Department of Biotechnology in India. Dr. NK Arora, Chairperson of the Covid Working Group, said that the launch of the Made in India vaccine was an unforgettable experience.

Dr. NK Arora said that this vaccine will effectively prevent cervical cancer. Good results will be obtained in 85-90 percent of cases. By giving this vaccine to the youth and girls of the country, they can get protection from cervical cancer after the age of 30. Dr. Arora said that there is a shortage of this vaccine in the world market..Now with the launch of this vaccine in India..the needs of the country can be met.

According to the data of the World Health Organization, 41 lakh 91 thousand women have died due to cervical cancer in India since 2019.

What is Cervical Cancer?

It is called cervical cancer because it is a cancer that starts in the cervix. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, all women are at risk of cervical cancer. After the age of 30, every woman has chances of getting cervical cancer. Chronically infectious human papillomavirus is a major cause of cervical cancer. If cervical cancer can be detected early, it is possible to increase the standard of living.

This vaccine prevents HPV which is the main cause of cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancer. India has till now been dependent on foreign manufacturers of HPV vaccine. And September 1 means from tomorrow India will get the first indigenous QHPV vaccine. The vaccine, developed by the Serum Institute, was approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on July 12.
