Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtriya Samithi President and Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao is reportedly making suggestions for holding early elections to the Telangana Assembly.

The first assembly election was held in 2014 after the separation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana Assembly consists of a total of 119 MLAs.

Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) won 103 seats in Telangana’s first assembly elections. Owaisi’s Majlis Party 7; Congress 5; BJP won 3 seats. TRS leader Chandrasekhara Rao served as the Chief Minister.

The 2nd assembly election in 2018 was held 9 months before the completion of the term of 5 years of the Telangana Assembly. In the election, Telugu Desam, Congress and CPI formed an alliance and stood against the TRS party. However, the TRS won 88 seats and retained power. But the Congress party showed strength by winning 19 seats. BJP 1; Telugu Desam won 2 seats. Owaisi’s Majlis Party won 7 seats in the 2nd election as well.
