Mumbai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward on underworld don and mastermind of the Mumbai blasts, Dawood Ibrahim. It has been revealed that they will give Rs 25 lakhs if they provide the necessary information to arrest him. NIA officials disclosed this on Thursday.
Along with Dawood Ibrahim and his followers Chota Shakeel Rs. 20 lakhs, Haji Anees alias Anees Ibrahim Shaikh, Javed Patel alias Javed Chikna, Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razak Memon alias Tiger Memon are announcing a reward of Rs 15 lakh each, the NIA officials revealed. All of them are accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Officials said that any information should be forwarded to the investigating agency so that they can be arrested.
In February this year, the NIA registered a case against the international terrorist group ‘D Company’ run by Dawood. According to the NIA, this organization is involved in criminal activities like arms smuggling, narco-terrorism, underworld criminal syndicate, money laundering and funding of terrorists. It said that it is providing vital support to international terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Al-Qaeda operating on the basis of Pakistan.
It is already known that Dawood has been declared as an international terrorist by the United Nations. It has been officially revealed that he is currently seeking asylum in Pakistan. Dawood’s name is in the list of international terrorist organizations and terrorists released by the United Nations in 2018 with Karachi address. In 1993, fierce bomb blasts took place in 12 places across the country’s commercial capital, Mumbai, within hours. In this incident, 257 people lost their lives and more than 700 people were injured.
