An Indian-American doctor has filed a case against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and business magnate Gautham Adani over various issues including corruption and Pegasus spyware.
The US District Court for the District of Columbia has issued subpoenas to several of these leaders, including those in India earlier this year. Ravi Patra, a prominent Indian-American lawyer based in New York, called it a “case that’s over when it comes”.

The case against PM Modi, Jaganmohan Reddy and Adani was filed by Richmond-based gastroenterologist Dr Lokesh Vuyuru.
Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and president of the World Economic Forum, is among those named in the case.
Without any documentary evidence, Vuiyaru, an Indian-American doctor from Andhra Pradesh, has accused Prime Minister Modi, Jaganmohan Reddy and Adani and others of corruption, including massive transfers of money to the US and the use of Pegasus spyware against political opponents.
The case was filed on May 24, following which the court issued the summons on July 22. Summons were issued in India on 4th August and to Schwab in Switzerland on 2nd August.
Dr. Vuyuru presented the court with evidence that the summons was served on August 19.
Asked about the case, lawyer Ravi Patra said Vuyuru had too much free time on his hands.
“Lokesh Vuyuru has a lot of time on his hands as he looks to improperly use our federal courts by filing his 53-page complaint to defame and defame US ally India. That means we helped by repeatedly dismissing SFJ v INC and SFJ v Sonia Gandhi. He is blind as if Article 11 does not exist to teach respect to Article III courts,” Ravi Batra told PTI.
“The fact that no lawyer has agreed to sign this toilet paper indicates the nature of the ‘complaint’ as it is a case that ends on arrival,” Ravi Patra replied to a question.
“He has a bird’s-eye view of corruption, and he’s looking at it, and he doesn’t mention it, but RICO and fraud,” Ravi Batra said.
