‘Operation Kamalam’ failed in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that ‘Operation Kamalam’ has been proved to be a failure in the national capital Delhi. Kejriwal won the test of confidence brought against his own government at a time when the political differences between BJP and AAP in Delhi were increasing. All the AAP MLAs voted in favor of the CM. After the test of confidence, Kejriwal said, “After the CBI raids on Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party’s vote share has increased by 4 percent in Gujarat. After Sisodia’s arrest, the vote share will increase by another 6 percent. This is the certificate given by Prime Minister Modi that nothing was found with Sisodia during the CBI raids. BJP offered Rs.20 crore to Rs.50 crore to buy MLAs, but not a single AAP MLA accepted their offer. Am I doing something wrong by building schools and hospitals? Both our children studied in IITs. We want to provide such education to every child in the country,” said Kejriwal
On August 29, Kejriwal moved a confidence motion in the Assembly to prove that BJP’s ‘Operation Kamalam’ to topple governments had failed in Delhi. When the voting was held today, the AAP government won. AAP has 62 MLAs and BJP has 8 MLAs in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. While two Aam Aadmi Party MLAs are abroad, another MLA, Satyendra Jain, is in jail. Of the remaining 59, one is the speaker. Voting on the confidence motion was held on Thursday in Moojwani and divisional mode. 58 MLAs voted in favor of Kejriwal. As no BJP MLA was present in the House, not a single vote was cast against it. Three opposition MLAs were forcibly sent out by the speaker marshals for agitating in the assembly. The other five BJP MLAs staged a walkout protesting the incident.
