Ashok Leyland sold 1400 buses in UAE at once; A transaction worth Rs 400 crores took place

Dubai – Indian vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland sold 1400 buses together in the UAE vehicle market. All the buses will be used for school purposes. The buses were purchased by School Transport Solutions and Emirates Transport in the UAE. A bus costs Dh2 lakh (Rs 43.30 lakh). A total transaction of Rs 400 crores was done.

All the buses were manufactured at Ashok Leyland’s manufacturing unit in Ras Al Khaimah. Executive Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja told ‘Manorama’ that 55 per cent of the materials required for construction were procured from the UAE itself, while the rest was imported from India. Electric buses launched in India and UK will soon be introduced in the Gulf countries as well.

A small version of the electric buses called Switch is being tested in the Gulf countries. The challenge is to build batteries that can withstand the high temperatures in the Gulf. He also said that electric buses will be launched in the Gulf countries as soon as the batteries become capable of resisting heat.

Ashok Leyland has 70% of the UAE bus market. 30 percent in the Indian market. The plant in Ras Al Khaimah produces 5000 vehicles per year. The manufacturing unit reached its maximum output. The process of starting the new unit is in progress.

The car will not be manufactured

Electric buses have been launched in a new era. There will be an increase in construction cost while changing to a new form. This will increase the cost of buses. The reason behind the popularity of the company is that it offers buses at pocket-friendly prices. That is the reason why the traditional form has not changed. There will be no shift from bus and lorry construction. Car manufacturing is another industry. Not going into it. A shortage of chips and semiconductors is a setback in making more vehicles. Chip-making companies in Taiwan and China are doubling production, but not enough. However, according to the new estimate, the shortage of chips and semiconductors is changing– Dheeraj Hinduja, Executive Chairman
