Ahmedabad, Sep 4 (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will unveil the 36th national sports anthem and mascot in Ahmedabad on Sunday. He will also start smart schools of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Shah will also inaugurate the 6th All India Jail Duty Meeting in Ahmedabad.

The Home Minister will first inaugurate the Smart Schools of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. He will attend the opening ceremony of the 36th National Games in the evening, where he will be accompanied by Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The event will be officially inaugurated at the EKA Arena Trans Stadia Multipurpose Stadium in Ahmedabad, where 9,000 guests from across the state are expected to attend. A website and app will also be introduced at the opening ceremony along with the national sports anthem and mascot.

With this program, the 11th Khel Mahakumbh will also come to an end, which is organized by the Government of Gujarat.

The National Games are being organized every seven years.

This year from September 29 to October 12, the National Games will be held in six cities of Gujarat and a track cycling event will be held in New Delhi. Seven thousand participants from 36 different sports disciplines are expected to participate in the National Games.

Shah will also attend the sixth All India Jail Duty meeting on Sunday, in which Chief Minister Patel and Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi will also be present. This biennial meeting will be organized by the Bureau of Police Research and Development from September 4 to September 6.
