The 30th Southern Regional Council meeting of South Indian States and Union Territories was held yesterday in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief Ministers of the southern states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan participated in this.
Also, Lieutenant Governors of Southern Union Territories of Puducherry, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands were also present. Inaugurated by Amit Shah, the meeting discussed the interests between the states and the central government.
Subsequently, Amit Shah attended the conference organized by BJP after the meeting.
Speaking at the conference, Amit Shah said, “Congress is slowly disappearing from this country. And this world is eliminating communist parties. Moreover Congress and Communist never worked for the welfare of scheduled tribes and poor. They saw them as mere vote banks. So, if there is a future for Kerala, it is only the BJP,” he said, criticizing both the Congress and the Communists.
