AP has created a new history in green hydrogen production. Andhra Pradesh will become the center of green hydrogen production. AP will be part of the efforts to use clean energy as an alternative to depleting fossil fuel resources. Andhra Pradesh is among the five states selected by the Center for this project.
Green hydrogen production will be done in Visakhapatnam Nellore district. This has been mentioned in the latest hydrogen hub development plan submitted by India Hydrogen Alliance to the Union Ministry of Renewable Energy Resources and NITI Aayog. These hubs will be created in partnership with state governments.
Five National Green Hydrogen Hubs will be established in Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and these will be divided into 25 project clusters. Through these, IH2A has set a target of setting up 150 mega watt electrolyzer plants producing green hydrogen by 2025. These are known as first generation national green hydrogen projects. Plans will be made to utilize this green hydrogen by organizations belonging to various sectors.
