This is the first time that a complaint has been filed in a consumer court against Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. The name of the complainant is KR Hari Bhaskar.
What exactly is the case?
Bhaskar had made a booking in the year 2006 by paying an amount of 12 thousand 250. This amount has now been ordered to be returned with interest by the court. Tirumala Tirupati temple was closed for darshan for 80 days from March 2020 during the Corona epidemic. Due to this, Vastralankara and other services in the temple were also stopped. Then the temple devasthan asked KR Hari Bhaskar if you want a new date for the VIP darshan or if you want the money back. But Bhaskar demanded a new date for Vastralankar service.

The temple refused to hold the temple service on the second date
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthan informed that it is not possible to reschedule Vastralankar Seva. It was also informed to the devotee that you should get a refund. But then Bhaskar approached the Consumer Court and lodged a complaint against the Devasthan Committee. The court then ordered the temple to give a new date for the Vastralankar service to the devotee within the next year or pay Rs 50 lakh as compensation.
