What allegations has been made by Nitesh Rane?
“Some matrimonial institutions in Maharashtra are encouraging and supporting the conversion of Hindu girls in large numbers. This marriage agency is providing fake marriage certificates for just Rs.2000. Such marriages should be stopped and these people should be put in jail. We will ensure that this happens,” said Nitesh Rane.
The issue was also raised in the monsoon session –
“This is a very serious issue for Maharashtra. In Ahmednagar’s Srirampur, a minor girl is tricked in the name of religious conversion. A girl is abused and misused. In every nook and cranny of Maharashtra, minor girls are being tricked and empowered in the name of religious conversion,” alleged Nitesh Rane.
He further said, “Hindu girls are paid for conversion, given bikes. Financial assistance is being given to encourage conversion. Rate card has been done. The rate card is 7 lakhs for cheating a Sikh girl, 6 lakhs for cheating a Punjabi Hindu girl, 6 lakhs for a Gujarati Brahmin girl, 5 lakhs for a Brahmin girl, 4 lakhs for a Kshatriya girl. They are going as far as selling young women. Girls’ lives are being ruined in the name of conversion”.
