New Delhi, Agency. The Western Monsoon trough is running across the Himalayan foothills and the East end is moving north from its normal position. A cyclonic circulation is forming over Lakshadweep and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea. Due to which heavy rains are expected in many states including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir during the next 5 days.
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, moderate rain and isolated heavy falls at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Heavy rain is possible. Widespread rain is possible over many parts of the South Peninsula. Moderate to heavy rains may occur over parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir region. Some parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha may see scattered rain.

- According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy to very heavy rains over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next three days. Today i.e. on September 4, there is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
- Heavy rains with strong winds are expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on Sunday. There is a warning of heavy rain in Gangetic West Bengal till September 4-5 and Odisha till September 5-8, East Madhya Pradesh from September 4-6 and Chhattisgarh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands from September 4-8.
- According to the Meteorological Department, there will be very widespread rain with the possibility of thunder and lightning over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and South Interior Karnataka for the next 5 days. Heavy rain is very likely over Coastal and North Interior Karnataka till September 6-8, Lakshadweep till September 5-6 over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam till September 8 and Kerala and Mahe till September 6-8.
- According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of lightning and heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand on September 4. Himachal Pradesh will receive heavy rains on September 4 and 5. At the same time, during the next 5 days, less rain activity will be seen over the plains of Northwest India and Central India.
