Puducherry: Complaint that the mother of the 8th class girl poisoned her daughter’s classmate who excelled in studies. Balamanikandan, son of Rajendran and Malathi, natives of Puducherry Karaikal, died.
Bala Manikandan, the second of the three children of Rajendran and Malathi, who worked at Nyayavila store in Puducherry, died of poisoning. Bala Manikandan is an 8th standard student in a local private school.
It is alleged that the boy was given cold drink mixed with poison by his classmate’s mother while attending school anniversary celebrations. As soon as he got home, the child would vomit continuously and show physical discomfort. The parents admitted the child to Manikandan Karaikkal Government General Hospital.
The child died last night at half past ten while undergoing treatment. Relatives have alleged that Victoria Sakayarani, the mother of the classmate, who was ranked second, mixed poison in the soft drink due to jealousy of Bala Manikandan, who was the first in the class. Following the death of the child
Victoria Sakayarani was arrested by the police. At the same time, the child’s relatives have complained that the sudden death of the child, who was speaking well and did not show any sign of disability even after being admitted to the hospital, is a medical malpractice. CCTV footage of the school is being banned by the police.
