Thiruvananthapuram: Change in rain warnings in the state. Five districts are on yellow alert. Yellow alert today in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram and Wayanad districts. The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of widespread rain in Kerala for the next 5 days due to the presence of a cyclonic vortex over the Comorin region. Isolated heavy rain, thunder and lightning are likely during these days. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that very heavy rains are also likely at isolated places in Kerala from September 6 to 8.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that it is not advisable to go for fishing in Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coasts from September 5 to 7.
Strong winds and bad weather conditions are likely to occur over Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coasts from September 5 to 7 with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts of up to 55 kmph.
From 04-09-2022 to 07-09-2022: Chance of strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph over Kanyakumari coast, Gulf of Mannar, South Tamil Nadu coast and South-West Bay of Bengal along Sri Lankan coast.
From 05-09-2022 to 07-09-2022: Strong wind speed of 40 to 50 kmph likely over Maldives coast, adjoining South East Arabian Sea and Central-East Arabian Sea.
Fishing is not allowed in the above areas during the warning dates.
