Urmila Matondkar’s name was also included in the list of 12 names sent by Uddhav Thackeray to the Legislative Council from the Governor’s quota as CM. Apart from him, the name of Eknath Kharge from NCP was also in the list. This list was pending with the governor for a long time.
New list of 12 MLAs will be sent to the Governor
According to the information, the Governor has accepted the request of the Shinde government. Now a new list of 12 names will be sent to the Governor after passing a resolution in the cabinet on behalf of the Shinde government. This means that the names of 12 members of the Legislative Council will be decided by the Shinde faction and the BJP together.
Earlier, the then Mahavikas Aghadi government had sent the list twice to the governor, but the governor did not approve it raising technical and legal issues. Because of this the matter reached the court.
These names were in the list of Uddhav Thackeray
Shiv Sena- Urmila Matondkar, Vijay Karanjkar, Nitin Banugde Patil and Chandrakant Raghuvanshi
NCP- Eknath Kharge, Raju Shetty, Yashpal Bhinge and Anand Shinde
Congress- Rajnitai Patil, Sachin Sawant, Anirudh Vankar, Muzaffar Hussain
In the new list that will be sent to the governor, there will be a division between the Shinde-BJP faction. According to sources, the BJP is likely to get nine seats while the Shinde group may get three. It is also reported that Shinde faction has demanded four seats.
