Nipani: Couple killed after four-wheeler overturns in Tavandi Ghat; Five people including daughter, son-in-law were injured

Nipani; Leading News Service: A husband and wife died on the spot in an accident in which the four-wheeler overturned after the driver lost control near Hotel Amaranth on the Tawandi Ghat slope on the Pune-Bangalore National Highway. A total of five people including daughter, son-in-law, grandson and students who stopped at the stop were injured. The accident happened yesterday (Tuesday) evening. Sir, the incident has been registered in the city police. The accident took place when the driver of the Scorpio lost control while returning from a sightseeing trip from Goa.

The names of deceased husband and wife are Shivdas Dharmaji Borkar (age 65) Surekha Shivdas Borkar (age 60). Daughter Priyanka Suhas Dhoke (Age 31), Husband Suhas Ramdas Dhoke (Age 35), Daughter Spoorva Suhas Dhoke (Age 5), Dir Nitesh Ramdas Dhoke (Age 38) All Res. Lakhani, Kesarwada Dist. Bhandara and Prasad Nijgonda Kiledar (Age 18) Res. Chinchani Chikodi was injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Government Mahatma Gandhi Hospital here.

More information about this is that Priyanka, who was injured in the accident, along with her husband Suhas, director Nitesh, daughter Spoorva, mother Surekha, father Shivdas had gone for a trip to Goa. He was returning to his hometown after doing tourism. On Tuesday evening, his four-wheeler came to Tavandi Ghat slope. At this time, Nitesh, the driver of the vehicle which was approaching Hotel Amar at high speed, lost control and the Scorpio hit the bus stop on the side of the road.

At this time B from Stavannidhi. T. Prasad, a student of Patil Polytechnic Institute, was waiting to take a bus to his hometown. This time, he was injured after being hit by a Scorpio. When the four-wheeler overturned, husband and wife Surekha and Shivdas in the vehicle were killed on the spot. Five people namely Priyanka Nitesh, Suhas, Purva and Vidyarthi Prasad were seriously injured.

Meanwhile, getting information about the incident, inspector Vishnu Gadkari of Bharari team of Road Maintenance Company rushed to the spot and called the police. Accordingly, Sub-Inspector of City Police Station Krishnaveni Gurlhosur along with Constable P. M. Ghasti visited. Earlier, the injured were admitted to the Government Mahatma Gandhi Hospital here for treatment by an ambulance of the Road Maintenance Company. Among the injured, Priyanka, Nitesh and Prasad have sustained serious injuries, while Suhas and Spoorva have sustained minor injuries. Further investigation is being conducted by Sub Inspector Gurlhosur.

The six persons involved in the Scorpio accident had sat and had tea together at a hotel on Azra-Nipani road just fifteen minutes before the accident. At this time all of them had planned to stay at Kolhapur or some other halfway point as the distance of travel was long. But Kala attacked the elderly couple Surekha and Shivdas in the Scorpio vehicle and took them away. The injured Surekha and Shivdas’s daughter Priyanka along with their son-in-law Suhas and their brother Nitesh raised a single cry. Bringing back old memories brought tears to our eyes.
