At the time of political crisis, there was tension in the government-Governor relationship, Congress MLAs led by CM gave a sit-in at Raj Bhavan
There has been a good rapport between Governor Kalraj Mishra and CM Ashok Gehlot. Two years ago in July 2020, the governor and the government came face to face during the political crisis caused by the rebellion of the Sachin Pilot camp. At that time the government sent a proposal of the cabinet to the governor to call the session of the assembly, but the governor returned the file at least 14 days before giving information and asking the reason for calling the session. When the Raj Bhavan returned the file to convene the assembly session four times, Congress MLAs led by CM Ashok Gehlot staged a dharna in the Raj Bhavan throughout the day. After this dharna, it was agreed to approve the proposal to convene the assembly session. During this, there was a heated argument between the Raj Bhavan and the government. Later on August 14, 2020, the Gehlot government proved its majority by calling the assembly session. After proving the majority, the relationship between Gehlot and the governor returned to normal. After the confrontation with the Raj Bhavan over the assembly session, the government adopted the pattern of not prorogating the budget session, which is going on till date.
