Rajasthan’s oldest Anant Chaturdashi procession LIVE
After 2 years, the wonderful journey of faith has started in Kota on Anant Chaturdashi. The procession started at 1:15 pm at Surajpol Gate after worship in the presence of saints. Anant Chaturdashi procession in Kota is considered to be the oldest procession in Rajasthan. It was started in Kota in the year 1949, although historians and many believe that for the first time in 1950, Dr. Ramkumar started it with only 15 people by placing a Ganesh idol on a handcart. After which this tradition continues till now and now from 15 people this convoy has reached more than two lakh people.
About 2 lakh people are involved in the procession itself. This 5 kilometer long procession includes 70 akhadas and 200 tableaux. 33 hundred policemen are deployed for surveillance. The procession has reached outside the Kathunipole police station and the demonstration of the akhadas has started here. The idols will be immersed at Baradwari, which will reach Baradwari at 8 o’clock in the night and after that the immersion will take place.
The procession started after the worship at Surajpol Gate, the saints were also present in the worship, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha also reached.
Heavy police presence was present during the procession.
There are 70 akhadas in this 5 km long procession. The youth of these akhadas are walking in a show of bravery.
