A customer from Anantapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh booked a refill cylinder on October 7, 2019. The delivery boy brought the gas cylinder from HP Gas Connection at Hanuman Agency in Gutti Road. After that, the delivery boy asked to pay an additional Rs.30. The delivery boy took the cylinder back when the customer said that he would not give it. As a result, the consumer contacted the Civil Supplies Officer, who again left the cylinder in front of the house. The delivery boy justified what he had done by saying that when the agency brought it to the attention of the agency, there would be supply costs and they would ask for them. Later, the customer who complained was transferred to another agency.

The concerned customer complained to the collector about the change of agency. In his written complaint to the District Consumer Forum, he mentioned the difficulties faced due to lack of cylinder. With this, the forum has issued notices to the Gas Agency and the AP Civil Supplies Corporation. When an investigation was conducted, the agency said that there was no need to pay compensation as the delivery boy had been fired. However, the forum bench, which erred in the way of the agency, ruled on Friday that the agency should pay a compensation of Rs.
