The Global Expo on Waste Management Technologies– GEX Kerala’23– will be held in Kochi from February 4th to 6th, presenting new technologies and ideas in waste management. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the conclave organized by Sanitation Mission Marine Drive at 10 am on the 4th. Local Government Minister MB Rajesh said in a press conference that the aim of Kernclave is to create a new perspective and awareness in the state regarding waste management.

The conclave will introduce modern and scientific methods of waste management. People’s representatives up to the chairman of the standing committee of each local body, secretary, executive officers, vice-chairman of the planning committee and Haritakarmasena consortium office-bearers will participate. Auditoriums, hotels, hospitals, malls and construction sectors that generate large amounts of waste can also participate. Public can visit the conclave by paying a fee of Rs 250 and students Rs 100.

The minister said that the conclave will be the largest study, exhibition and discussion forum organized in the state related to waste management.
Sanitation Mission Executive Director KT Balabhaskaran, Liquid Waste Management Director KS Praveen and Solid Waste Management Director Jyotish Chandran also participated in the press conference.
