Two students, studying final year B.Sc Agriculture in a college in Dehradun, died in a road accident near Malout on Friday. Both these students were coming from Chandigarh to their house in village Dutaranwali located in Abohar on bike. Here, the family members of both the students reached the spot as soon as they came to know about the incident. Both the bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem at Government Hospital Giddarbaha.

Surendra Kumar, the sarpanch of village Dutaranwali, told that 22-year-old Priyanshu son Baldev Kumar and Rupesh son Rajkamal, residents of his village, were studying B.Sc Agriculture in Dehradun. He told that during the first year itself, Priyanshu had taken his bike to Dehradun and both the students used to come and go to college on the same, but now after the completion of the course, both of them were coming to leave their bikes at home. On Thursday, both reached Chandigarh from Dehradun by bike. Where Priyanshu stayed with his aunt’s son.

The sarpanch told that around 9 pm on Thursday night, these people left Chandigarh for Dutaranwali village of Abohar. On Friday morning, an unidentified vehicle hit his bike hard near Malout. Rupesh died on the spot. While the people who reached the spot got Priyanshu admitted to the government hospital in Malout, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Here, as soon as the incident came to light, there was chaos in the house of both the deceased in village Dutaranwali and a large number of people of the village reached the government hospital in Malout. Later the bodies of Priyanshu and Rupesh were brought to the government hospital in Giddarbaha, where post-mortem of both was done. The Giddarbaha police station started action on the statement of the family members. It is learned that the deceased Priyanshu was the eldest of two brothers while Rupesh has a younger sister. Both the fathers do agriculture in the village. After this incident, there was a wave of mourning in the whole village.
