New Delhi [धनंजय मिश्रा], A man sleeping in a parking lot near New Delhi Railway Station premises was set on fire with the intention of murder by pouring inflammable material after he did not return the loan of Rs 1 lakh for the daughter’s marriage. The incident took place on the late night of 21-22 September. People present nearby reached there after hearing the noise and admitted the victim Jograj to Lok Nayak Hospital.

According to the information, Jograj, originally from Etah in Uttar Pradesh, works as a cobbler in the parking lot near New Delhi Railway Station. In the month of May, he married his daughter. For this, he had borrowed one lakh rupees from a person named Rajiv. He had said that he would give the amount little by little. In the recent past, Rajiv was putting a lot of pressure on Jograj to take his money. For this he also used to abuse.
On the night of September 21-22, Jograg was sleeping in the parking lot near the station premises. Late at around 2.30 pm, Rajiv came with two boys. Both the boys poured flammable material on Jograj. During this his eyes opened. They see that Rajiv has set fire to the match.
Thereafter all three fled from the spot. The people of the surrounding somehow managed to control the fire and took Jograj to Lok Nayak Hospital.
Police got information from the hospital
The matter was reported to the police from the hospital. One team reached the hospital and the other at the spot. The police took the statement of the injured in the hospital. Up to 80 percent of the victims have suffered burns. As such, his condition remains critical.

Questions are being raised about the security arrangements of the police in and near the New Delhi railway station. People say that if the police patrolling in and around New Delhi railway station had been done properly, perhaps this incident could have been prevented.
