India has warned that anti-India slogans and hate crimes are on the rise in the North American country of Canada.
And the federal government has warned Canadian Indians on Friday (September 23) that those involved in these crimes have not been brought before the law.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Incidents related to hate crimes, sectarian violence and anti-India activities have increased sharply in Canada.
In this regard, the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consular officials in Canada have mentioned these incidents to the Canadian authorities and requested them to investigate the above crimes and take appropriate action.
However, the perpetrators of these crimes have not yet been brought to justice in Canada. Therefore, Indians visiting Canada for travel and educational purposes are advised to exercise caution.
Indians have also been asked to register at the Embassy of India in Ottawa or the Consulates in Toronto and Vancouver or through the website Madad.gov.in (madad.gov.in) if any of the Indians are affected.
It has also been said that, “In case of any need or emergency, the High Commission and Consulates will be able to better communicate with the Indian citizens in Canada.
