In Chandigarh, following a bomb threat in the district court complex, the police launched a massive search yesterday.

The district court is located near the bus stand which is always busy in Chandigarh. The police control room received information that a bomb had been placed in its premises.

Subsequently, the police immediately went to the court and evicted everyone including the judges, lawyers, officials.

Later, the entire court complex was thoroughly searched by a team of bomb-detection experts. A police sniffer dog was also called in.

But no bomb was seized. However, police security has been beefed up in the area,’ said a police official.
