Kochi: Kenji Miyata, Deputy Consul General, Consulate General of Japan in Chennai, said that there are many possibilities for increasing cooperation and relations between India and Japan. Kenji Miyata said that the Consulate General of Japan in Chennai will continue to work for India-Japan relations and cooperation. He was speaking at the Indo-Japan International Conference organized by the Center for Public Policy Research in Kochi. The two-day Indo-Japan International Conference organized by the Center for Public Policy Research, Kochi in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan concluded in Kochi. The conference was a unified platform for discussions and collaborations related to India-Japan cooperation. Delegates and speakers from India and Japan participated in the conference. Experts in the fields of geostrategy, foreign policy, maritime commerce, technology and climate change related to India-Japan diplomatic relations spoke at the conference.

“Many issues were discussed here and good analyses, ideas and proposals were put forward. Connectivity in many areas was discussed. Similarly, some difficulties and limitations exist. But there are many possibilities for expanding India-Japan cooperation. The confidence gained from this international conference will be useful for future cooperation,” Deputy Consul General Kenji Miyata said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also visiting Japan in May. This is the second time Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has been here, which is a sign of the growing relationship between the two countries. It shows partnership and engagement. I am confident that this international conference will cement the beautiful relationship between India and Japan. It is a pleasure to have very fruitful interaction and discussions on various issues related to India-Japan relations,” said G Dhanuraj, Chairman, Center for Public Policy Research.

During the five sessions of the conference, various topics related to India-Japan cooperation were discussed. Collaboration between IPOE, FOIP and AOIP; cooperation in new technologies, shipping and ports; Best practices in disaster mitigation; Opportunities and Challenges in India-Japan Cooperation: Diplomatic and Global Alliance; Cooperation and Challenges with India and Japan in the Indo-Pacific: Security and Defense Cooperation.
