Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state, Gujarat, has embarrassed the country with the result of the 10th class examination. When the results came out yesterday, 63 schools were ‘closed’ without even a single student passing the exam.

The Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has declared the result of Secondary School Certificate Examination on Tuesday. The pass percentage is 66.97 percent. Last year it was 67.5 percent. The exams were held in March.

Board Chairman AJ said that out of 8,22,823 students who appeared for the exam, 5,51,023 passed. Shah said in a press conference. He informed that in 63 schools not a single student passed the exam and 366 schools got 100 percent pass. While 72.64 percent of girls passed, the pass percentage of boys was limited to 62.83 percent.

Only 17.23 percent of the students who failed in the previous years and appeared for the exam again this time passed.
