An 8-day theater workshop ‘Acting and its Magnetism’ was held in the picturesque village on the banks of Talpan River in Kankon. The workshop focused on the basic elements of drama such as gesture, voice and physicality.

Starting at 5:00 a.m. every day, the workshop followed a rigorous 8-hour routine of Kalaripayattu, Navaras, body and emotions. Apart from Goa, a total of 11 trainees from different locations such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur and Gujarat participated in this workshop.

Theater Flamingo Actors Lab has been organizing such residential theater workshops for the past few years. This was his 12th residential workshop this year.

In this year’s workshop, a special play based on Shakespeare’s famous play ‘Macbeth’ was produced by the participating trainees. The aim of the activity was to enhance the actor’s skills using the medium of the body.

The workshop concluded with a play ‘Mookbhat’ based on Macbeth. The exercises practiced in the workshop and interesting gestures were invented by the actors in this performance.
