Chandigarh, Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao had given checks of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of 712 farmers of Punjab and Haryana. Out of these, checks of many farmers of Tarn Taran district of Punjab have bounced. In this regard, the farmers have also sent a complaint letter to the Agriculture Director of Punjab and have demanded that their money be returned. However, the department has assured the farmers to get their compensation money soon.

Significantly, in November last year, after the withdrawal of three agricultural laws by the central government, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao had announced that he would provide financial assistance to the families of the farmers killed during the farmer’s movement. He had announced that a compensation of three lakh rupees would be given to the farmer families who lost their people during the movement. Along with this, he had also requested the Central Government to give Rs 25-25 lakh to the victim’s family unconditionally.

After this, in the month of May this year, in a function organized in Chandigarh, he distributed checks of Rs. During this, 10 lakh each was given to the family of 4 soldiers of Punjab who were martyred in Galvan Valley. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and farmer leader Rakesh Tikait were also present in the ceremony with him.
