Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ was one of the most awaited films of 2022, but its performance at the Indian box office has taken a huge toll on the star. The film has not even earned 60 crores at the domestic box office. If reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan has decided to leave his fees and compensate for the loss of the film.
According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Viacom 18 have suffered a loss of Rs 100 crore due to the film’s beating. But if Amir decides to forgo his fees, the loss for the studio will be minimal. The report also stated that since Aamir has given four years to the film, he technically would not be able to earn any money from the film if he did not charge any fees.
According to the old report, there was a rift between Aamir Khan Productions and the studio after the failure of ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, a remake of Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’. It was claimed that the promotion of the film was not approved by the studio, while Aamir was in favor of the promotion. There was a rift between the two sides on this issue.
Let us tell you that starring Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh among others, Laal Singh Chaddha was written by Atul Kulkarni and directed by Advait Chandan. The film was released on August 11 along with Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
Akshay Kumar’s film also earned 11.70 crores at the box office on the first day itself. And later it was able to collect only up to 50.98 crores.
Aamir Khan had said that he will release his film on the OTT platform after six months. But after being beaten at the box office, the makers of the film will reconsider its OTT release and will release on OTT within 8 weeks. However, on the other hand there was also news that Netflix has canceled the offer of OTT release of the film and other OTT platforms are not buying the rights of the film.
