The officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) revealed that the Spicejet flight that left Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi International Airport) for Nashik on Thursday morning returned mid-way due to an ‘autopilot’ problem. The Boeing 737 plane returned safely. “Spicejet B737 flight VT-SL..Delhi-Nashik flight SG-8363 on Thursday morning from Delhi to Nashik (Delhi Nashik Flight) turned back due to autopilot problem,” said a DGCA official.

SpiceJet is facing a serious financial crisis due to high fuel prices and depreciation of the rupee. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued show cause notices as several incidents have taken place in the planes of this company in the past. On July 27, the DGCA directed SpaceJet to operate only 50 percent of its services for eight weeks, which has repeatedly violated safety standards.

Problems have become commonplace in SpiceJet flights. The airline has a habit of playing with the lives of passengers, be it for take-off, delay or landing. Recently, within a period of four weeks, 9 dangerous technical problems occurred in SpiceJet flights.

Once, while the plane was in the air, smoke came from the cabin. In another case, cracks were found in the windshield. Once again, there was a technical problem with the fuel indicator. Criticisms are pouring in that it is not right to play with the lives of passengers by neglecting the problems that should be solved earlier. DGCA’s investigation revealed that these problems arose due to lack of internal security monitoring and management measures.
