Rahul Dravid Talks About Virat Kohli Form Ravindra Jadeja Injury And Rishabh Pant Place In Playing Eleven Ahead Of IND Vs PAK Asia Cup 2022

Rahul Dravid Press Conference: Today India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) are going to clash once again in the Asia Cup. Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid held a pre-match press conference on Saturday, a day before this big match. In this press conference, he said for his star batsman Virat Kohli that he does not care how many runs Virat scores, but he gives importance to how Virat scores runs. Rahul Dravid also had a long conversation on Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant in this press conference.

‘Even a small innings can make a big difference in T20’
Dravid said, ‘Virat is back after the break. Good to see that he is playing afresh. He is looking forward to playing all these matches. He got a chance to spend time in the field and hopefully he will do better from here. For us, it doesn’t really matter how many runs he scores. Especially with Virat, people get a little obsessed with his stats. For us, it doesn’t matter. How he plays and how much benefit the team gets from him is important. Even a small innings in T20 can make a big difference.

‘It is too early to say anything on Jadeja’
On Ravindra Jadeja’s injury, Dravid said, ‘Jadeja is definitely sitting injuring his knee. He is currently under the supervision of the medical team. The World Cup is still far away. In such a situation, we do not want to say anything about his being out or being in the team. Players keep getting injured. Things depend on their rehab and the severity of the injury. I don’t want to see him out of the World Cup right now.

‘There is no first choice wicketkeeper in the team’
Rahul Dravid said on Rishabh Pant, ‘There is no first-choice wicketkeeper in the team. We play according to the conditions, the conditions of the field and the opponent team and choose the best XI accordingly. There may not always be the same choice for different situations. Against Pakistan that day, we felt Dinesh (Karthik) was the right choice for us.
