Kolkata: BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that to win the T20 World Cup, all the team members have to perform well and cannot move forward depending on just one or two players. Ganguly, who attended a private function in Kolkata, also said that India could not put up a good performance in the last T20 World Cup and Asia Cup.
Ganguly added that he had a discussion with coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma about their inability to perform well in big tournaments and is hopeful that they will perform well in next month’s T20 World Cup. I know Rohit and Rahul are worried about the team’s recent performances. I am also going to watch the second T20 match against Australia in Nagpur. India can be expected to win in Nagpur.
‘lost’ by this land; Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling again cheated India in the death over
Ganguly, who confirmed that he had a meeting with Dravid and Rohit on the poor performance of the team, was not ready to clarify the details. But Ganguly said that if India wants to win the T20 World Cup, it is enough to play with unity.
If we want to win the World Cup, Kohli, Rohit, Rahul, Hardik, Suryakumar and the bowling unit all have to perform equally well. We cannot win the World Cup with the performance of one or two players. Ganguly said that every player in the team should perform well.
‘It really is a game that should be finished in 15 overs, it was just dragged out’, Shaheen Afridi made the critics a clean bowler.
India have lost three of their last four T20 matches, including the Asia Cup. India gave up the game in the last over in all the three games. The only win was against Afghanistan.
