Due to the ever-increasing threat of China in the Indo-Pacific region, relations between India and Australia are continuously improving. After the meeting between the Defense and Foreign Ministers of the two countries, both of them participated in separate programs in Delhi on Tuesday. While India’s NSA Ajit Doval met Deputy PM Richard Marles, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar attended the meeting along with his counterpart Penny Wong.
NSA congratulated the Australian team on its victory.
NSA Doval congratulated Deputy PM Richard Marles on Australia’s World Cup victory. Both of them praised the sportsmanship of the teams. Not only this, there was also discussion between the two sides about working together on diplomatic issues of common interest. Both sides agreed to work together towards the Indo-Pacific, ASEAN, Africa and the Global South.
Foreign Minister Wong said- We need each other for the future
Apart from this, Foreign Minister Penny Wong S. Had a meeting with Jaishankar. During this he said that India and Australia share a lot in common. We share a history. Both the countries are also partners in democratic tradition. We both love our sporting traditions and, even more, we know how important we are to each other’s future. This is also a reason for bilateral relations. We know that our relationships are essential for peace, stability and prosperity.
