The 2023 season of IPL was won by CSK (Chennai Super Kings).

The Indian Premier League (IPL) can start from March 22. This information was given by IPL Governing Council Chairman Arun Dhumal. However, he also said that the date of the final has not been decided. Dhumal said that general elections are going to be held in the country. For this reason the league can be organized in two phases.

He said- There is a plan to start the tournament on March 22 in Chennai. Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions and will start their event by playing the first match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The entire tournament will be played in India only.

Only in 2009, the IPL was, entirely, held abroad (South Africa), while the 2014 edition was held half in the UAE due to the general elections. However, in 2019, the tournament was held in India despite the elections. . The final is likely to be held on May 26. Because after a few days of the league, the T20 World Cup will start from June 1.

Foreign players will also remain in India till the final
Even before the IPL, the cricket boards of all the countries have said that their players will be available to play the tournament till the final. In such a situation, the players of the rest of the team will also get less time to prepare together. However, players of the teams that did not reach the playoffs can definitely join the national team before May 26.

India could never play World Cup knockout right after IPL
If the IPL final is held on 26th May, then the T-20 World Cup will also start after 5 days. However, Team India’s first match will be held after 9 days on 5th June. But the players will still get very little time to practice together for the tournament.

T-20 World Cup has been played 8 times so far. Of these, thrice the tournament started within 20 days of the IPL final. Team India could not even cross the group stage all three times.
