Both India and Pakistan have been fined 40 percent of their match fees for having slow-over rates in matches. ICC match referee Jeff Crowe awarded the punishment to Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam for not following the time. Both the teams have bowled two overs short in the allotted time.

Article 2.22 of the ICC deals with errors related to slow over rates. According to this rule, if a team fails to bowl 20 overs within the stipulated time, 20 percent of the players’ match fee is deducted for each over. Both the teams were reduced to two overs each. Hence 40 percent match fee has been deducted. Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam have admitted the mistake.

Talking about India vs Pakistan match, India won the toss and bowled first and Pakistan scored 147 runs in 19.5 overs. Mohammad Rizwan scored 43 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four wickets and Hardik Pandya took three wickets. In reply, India won by five wickets in 19.4 overs. For India, Virat Kohli scored 35 runs, Ravindra Jadeja scored 35 runs in 29 balls and Hardik Pandya scored 33 runs in 17 balls. For Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets and Naseem Shah took two wickets.
