The appeal that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar had filed in the High Court 34 years ago in the case of culpable homicide as a lawyer has now been disposed of. The High Court has reduced the punishment given to 83-year-old Gurudayal Singh, the accused in this case, and limited it to the punishment he was already facing.

Justice Mahendra Goyal gave this order while disposing of the appeal of the accused. In fact, this appeal of the appellant accused was filed in the High Court in 1989 by the current Vice President Dhankhar as a lawyer. Appellant’s advocate Bhavna Choudhary said that on March 6, 1988, a report was registered at Kishangarh Bass police station in Alwar that Rajendra Singh was stabbed and injured. When Rajendra died during investigation, the police presented a challan in the court on charges of murder. At the same time, the ADJ Court imposed four years of imprisonment and a fine of one thousand rupees on the appellant under Section 302 Part 2 of IPC for culpable homicide.

An appeal was filed in the High Court against this order. On behalf of the appellant, it was said that the incident is 35 years old and he is 83 years old. In such a situation, his punishment should be reduced to the punishment already served. While hearing the appeal, the court gave relief to the accused and limited him to the punishment he had to suffer.
