
Wardha : An officer and four employees of Fisheries Department went to inspect the cages in Bordharan area. However, the administrative officer drowned in an accident while getting off the boat while returning to the cage area after completing the inspection. Four employees narrowly escaped. This incident took place in Bordharan area of Selu taluka on 18th around 10 pm. Therefore, this inspection at night has been well discussed and there has been a stir in the fisheries department.
The name of the deceased administrative officer is Yuvraj Khemchand Firke (53 R. Thane, Mumbai H.M. Nagpur). According to the information received from the police, the deceased Administrative Officer Yuvraj Firke along with Fishery Inspector Sunil Bhimrao Thackeray (57 Res. Nagpur), Divisional Manager Bansi Yogiram Gahat (58 Res. Aurangabad H.M. Nagpur), Mayank Vijay Singh Thakur (40 Res. Ghaziabad H.M. . Nagpur ), Assistant Fisheries Development Officer Yogesh Mohanlal Kathane (34 Res. Ballarshah H.M. Nagpur) five officers came from Nagpur to inspect the cages at Bor Dam.
They started the inspection after about 8 pm and while they were going back to the cage around 9 pm after the inspection, all the five fell into the river when their feet slipped on the plastic drum while getting off the boat to the platform. The four saved their lives by holding on to a nearby rope, but Yuvraj Firke, Administrative Officer of Fisheries Department, Nagpur, drowned in the deep water. Efforts were made till late night to retrieve the body trapped deep in the water of the dam, but due to darkness, the search could not be carried out. Police Inspector Tirupati Rane of Selu Police Station arrived at the spot in the night with the staff. On Sunday morning, the teams of the State Disaster Response Force rushed to Nagpur and started searching for the deceased Yuvraj Firke in the water of the dam. Police Inspector Tirupati Rane has informed that the body has not been found till the time of writing the news.
