India has donated US$2.5 million to the United Nations for Palestinian refugees. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) on Tuesday welcomed India’s support to the refugees in Gaza. India provided US$2.5 million to support the Agency’s core programs and services, including education, health care, relief and social services to Palestine refugees.
According to information given in the official release, the Indian representative underlined India’s continued support to the UNRWA Regional Office in Jerusalem. UNRWA spokesperson Tamara Alrifai said, we welcome India’s contribution to a better future for the refugees of Gaza in this difficult time.
India is continuously helping
Earlier in the month of November, India had delivered 32 tonnes of relief material to Palestinian citizens through Al Arish Airport in Egypt. Since 2018, India has given 27.5 million US dollars to UNRWA.
