Jagran correspondent, Jammu. As the weather increases, the arrival of migratory birds has increased in the famous Gharana Wetland of Jammu. On the other hand, the pond has started filling with migratory ducks, while on the other hand, the arrival of bigger birds has also increased.

These days, 10 Woolly Necked Stork birds are attracting people’s attention. These big birds are sitting in the pond itself. The neck of these birds appears as if it is covered with wool. That is why it is called woolly. These dark purple-white colored birds are recognizable from a distance.

Tourists who came to visit Gharana Wetland told this

Tourists reaching Gharana Wetland say that the small ducks all look the same, but the larger Woolly Necked Stork is recognizable from a distance. The special thing is that these birds are sitting very close.

Apart from this, the Black Headed Ibis bird has also arrived here and is attracting everyone’s attention with its half-moon shaped long beak. Even after this, people are waiting for the arrival of Sarpatti Sawan (Bar Headed Geese). These birds had reached the pond a few days ago and had also landed for some time. It is expected that these birds will land in the pond of Gharana Wetland by the end of this month.

Preparations are complete for Bar Headed Geese

Wetland preparations have been made for this. Cleaning has already been done. The excess grass has already been removed from the Gharana wetland. Madhavi Singh, who came to visit Gharana, says that this is her second visit, but till now she has not been able to even see Sarpatti Sawan. At the same time, Subhash Kumar, who came from Jammu, says that Gharana Wetland has now changed.

He is surprised to see the new look of the family. This wetland is becoming one of the better wetlands of the country, which is a good thing for Jammu. Block Officer Pammi Kumar said that the splendor will increase further with the arrival of Sarpatti Sawan soon.
