Police has been successful in solving the mystery of the murder of a Congress worker in Kunkuri police station area of ​​Jashpur. In this case, the police have arrested the husband, wife and son involved in blind murder. Suspicion of witchcraft is said to be the reason for the murder.

Information was received from police sources that the accused husband and wife were trying to murder Baiga Vrindaram of the village for the last five years. After finding the deceased alone on the intervening night of 15-16 November, the parents first beat him to death with sticks and when he became unconscious, they assumed him dead and went home and informed their son. Later, when the son went and saw him alive, he killed him with an axe.

Regarding the incident, police station in-charge Sunil Singh said that on November 16, information was received that a person has been murdered in village Harradand Jakhatoli. When the police immediately reached the spot, it was seen that the body of Vrindaram Nagvanshi, deceased in Harradand Jakhatoli, was lying in CC Road. Is. A large amount of blood has been shed due to serious injuries on the head and face. On seeing, prima facie, it was found that the murder was done by assault with some weapon. On the report of the deceased’s son Sanjay Ram, a case of murder was registered and investigation was started.

He said that on the instructions of higher officials, the police formed a special team and started searching for the unknown accused. During this time, the team came to know that Manoj Kumar of Harradand and his son Kiranjeet had a rivalry against the deceased Vrinda Ram, suspecting them of witchcraft. On the basis of suspicion, Manoj Kumar took Kiranjeet into custody and interrogated him closely about the incident and told that Vrindaram alias Baiga used to work as an exorcist. Whenever he met me, he used to say that he will do magic. His family members were often ill. Son Kiranjeet was also very ill. The accused suspected that it was Vrindaram who used witchcraft on the family members, so they hatched a conspiracy that if they got a chance, they would kill Vrindaram.

He told that on the night of 15th November at around 9 pm, Vrinda was caught by the accused, during which Manoj Kumar, with the intention of killing her, hit her with a wooden stick on her neck and head, then Vrinda fell on the road and became unconscious. Then both of them along with wife Fulmeet came straight to their home and told their son Kiranjeet. Kiranjeet took an ax from home and seeing Vrindaram alive, killed him by hitting him on the head with the back part of the ax 3-4 times.

The police have seized the wooden stick used in the incident, the clothes worn at the time of the incident, etc. from the possession of the accused. In the case, accused under section 302, 120 (B) IPC, Manoj Kumar (58 years), father late. Sundru Ram, Kiranjeet (20 years), father Manoj Kumar, Fulmat Bai (55 years) husband Manoj Kumar, all residents of Harradand Jakhatoli police station Kunkuri, were arrested and sent to jail on judicial remand.
