Advisory in view of untimely rain

Khairagarh, 29 November. Under the direction of Collector Gopal Verma, the District Agriculture Department issued instructions to the farmers to give information about crop damage to the insurance company on toll free number in view of the full possibility of damage to paddy or paddy crop due to untimely rains.
According to the instructions of Collector Gopal Verma, in view of the untimely rains due to the storm in the Bay of Bengal in the district, the Agriculture Department has issued instructions to the farmers that the notified crops of the villages notified under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, whether paddy is irrigated, paddy is non-irrigated, the situation of damage to the crops. There is a provision for claim payment to the insured farmer. Under which it is very important for the insured farmer to give information about crop loss to the insurance company / agriculture department / revenue department and bank within 72 hours of the incident.
Paragraph No. 14 under Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme – (c) In case of loss in the crop spread in the field for drying after harvesting or kept in small bundles in the field for drying after harvest. If the notified crop suffers more than 25 percent loss in the notified unit due to natural calamities like hail, cyclonic rain and unseasonal rain, then all those affected insured farmers will be declared eligible for compensation after examining the loss as per the rules.
The farmer should inform the implementation insurance company directly on toll free number 1800-419-0344 or 1800-11-6515 or in writing to the local revenue/agriculture officers, concerned bank or District Agriculture Officer/Revenue Officer within the prescribed time. The limit is to inform the details of the insured crop including the extent of damage and cause of damage within 72 hours.
Giving information, Deputy Director Agriculture Rajkumar Solanki said that the crop damage will be assessed by block level agriculture/revenue department officials and representatives of the insurance company. The maximum assistance payable under this component will be in proportion to the caste cost of the crop till the disaster occurs in the affected area subject to the sum assured.
Therefore, farmer brothers are requested to inform the crop damage directly to the implementing insurance company through toll free number 1800-419-0344 or 1800-11-6515 or in writing to Revenue/Agriculture/related bank or through Crop Insurance App. The details of the insured crop including the extent of damage and the reason for the damage can be informed within the stipulated time limit of 72 hours.
