Surendra ShiralkarAshta: Two women died on the spot in a four-wheeler accident. The names of the dead women are Ashwini Pankaj Nikam (age 37, resident of Vikhroli Mumbai) and Rupali Sachin Kamble (40, resident of Ashta Mislawadi). Devanshi Pankaj Nikam (7) and Akshay Gajanan Ullalkar (30, Mumbai) were injured. The accident took place on Ashta-Audumbar road today, Saturday morning. The information received from the scene and the police is that Gajanan Ullalkar from Mumbai, husband and wife Audumbar Dutt had come for darshan on Friday. His daughter Ashwini and grandson Devanshi Dutt would come for darshan. So brother Akshay Ullalkar came to Pune on Friday night with Ashwini and Devanshi from Mumbai. From there took friend’s four wheeler number (MH 12 W E 6775) and left for Dutt Darshan early in the morning. While going from Pune to Audumbar, Rupali Kamble suddenly came in front of the car near a lodge. In an attempt to save him, Akshay Ullalkar hit the brakes. But the car hit Rupali Kamble and went ahead in the sugarcane field. Rupali Kamble was killed in a car collision. Akshay’s sister Ashwini Nikam was hit on the head in the car and she also died on the spot. Bachi Devanshi Nikam and Akshay Ullalkar were injured. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Ashta. Ashwini Nikam’s mother and father and relatives broke the stone at the spot. The parents were heartbroken as Kala attacked the girl who was coming to see Dutt. The police arrived at the scene of the incident along with police inspector Srikrishna Katkadhond, assistant police inspector Mahesh Gaikwad, Satish Shinde, Jaideep Kalekar. The bodies of Ashwini Nikam and Rupali Kamble were taken to Ashta Rural Hospital for autopsy.
