More than 30 people were seriously injured in this incident. After receiving the information, the fire brigade personnel worked for 2 hours and brought the fire under control. Police rescued 30 injured people. For this, 8 fire engines were brought to the scene. The accident took place in a busy area near the railway station. The details of the deceased are not known yet. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra said that the injured are being shifted to the nearest hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the fire started in the hotel and spread to other buildings. The police recovered the bodies of a mother and daughter from the first floor of the hotel. Officials expect the death toll to rise further. The vehicles in the hotel cellar were also destroyed in this incident. “We brought the fire under control. We received the information at 11 am. Let’s find out the reasons for the accident. Strict action will be taken against the culprits,” explained DIG Mrityunjay Kumar Chaudhary. CM Nitish Kumar expressed grief over the fire incident. He promised to support the affected families in all possible ways.

The hotel accident happened hours after a JD(U) leader was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants in Patna’s Punpun area. JDU leader Sourav Kumar was returning from a wedding ceremony at 12.15 midnight on Wednesday when unidentified persons fired at him and fled. Sourav died on the spot. Masaurhi SDPO Kanhaiya Singh said that a search operation has been started to nab the accused.
