A case of pilferage of jewelery worth about 8 lakhs has come to light from Koriya district of Chhattisgarh. In fact, in Patna police station area, two accused entered the gold and silver shop and crossed about 150 to 200 grams of gold ornaments. The accused fled from there after carrying out the incident. At present, the police is busy in search of the accused by making a blockade in the city.
The incident took place in Bazar Para area of Patna police station area. There is a gold and silver shop named Pramod Metal Store here. Two youths riding bikes reached here on Wednesday morning at around 11 am. They entered the shop and started asking operator Jeetbandhan Soni (65 years) to show them gold chains, lockets, steel glasses. He asked for some more items, which Pramod Soni, the son of operator Jeetbandhan, went to his house to bring. Meanwhile, Jeetbandhan was still at the Sony shop.
Both the youths kept the operator Jeetbandhan Soni entangled in their talk and left the shop with a box full of locket containing 150 to 200 grams of gold. The cost of gold ornaments is said to be around Rs 8 lakh.
Still no clue of the accused
After about an hour, another customer came to get the gold locket, then they searched for the box, which they did not find, then they came to know about the theft. As soon as the shop operator came to know about the incident, he immediately informed about it to the Patna Police Station. The police immediately reached the spot and put up a blockade to nab the accused. Till now the police have not got any clue about the accused.
Incident caught on CCTV camera
The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV camera, on the basis of which the police are trying to identify the accused. It is being told that the accused had come on a Honda bike and had parked the car at some distance from the shop. Patna police station ASI Lawang Singh assured that soon both the accused would be arrested.
At the same time, Patna police station in-charge Saurabh Dwivedi said that both the accused youths had described themselves as contractors of PWD Ambikapur. He said that at present all the police stations have also been alerted to nab the two. He said that the shop does not have a CCTV camera installed, but the video of the miscreants running away has been captured in the CCTV camera installed in the neighboring shop.
