Delhi: Cervical cancer vaccine for women is being launched in India today. Union Department of Biotechnology and Serum Institute are jointly launching the vaccine.

In recent times, women are getting more and more cancers in body parts like breast, uterus and cervix. Doctors say that cancer can be prevented if cervical infection is detected at an early stage.

In this case, early vaccination is given to prevent cervical cancer. Until this day, foreign-made vaccines for cervical cancer were being used in India.

Now, the Drug Control Center of India has given approval to Serum Institute of India to manufacture cervical cancer vaccine in India. Subsequent trials of the vaccine were conducted in 12 locations in India in September 2018. On June 8, approval was given to manufacture the vaccine, with Phase II and III trials completed.

In this case, a cancer vaccine made in India is being introduced today. It will be introduced by Union Minister Jitendra Singh. The serum company said that this vaccine can prevent the human papilloma microbe that causes cervical cancer. This vaccine is likely to protect women from cervical cancer in the future.
